Detroit, MI (March 11, 2022) – A two-vehicle accident on I-94 early Friday, March 11 left one person in critical condition. The victim was crossing the roadway after the crash when they were hit.
The early-morning incident occurred near Harper Avenue in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94. Authorities were sent to the scene at approximately 12:15 a.m. due to reports that someone was ejected from their car.
Further investigations revealed that the driver at-fault fled the scene. Additionally, the center lane was blocked by the second involved vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle exited and attempted to cross the freeway when he was struck again. The second impact is believed to have sent the victim over the median wall and into the left lane of eastbound I-94.
The man remains hospitalized in critical condition. The driver who struck him sustained no injuries.
Both sides of the interstate were closed while police were present. The driver at-fault has not been identified or located.
