Blumfield Township, MI (November 19, 2023) - An 80-year-old woman died on Tuesday, November 14, just after 6:00 a.m. in the evening due to a local crash, and authorities have since released further details.
The incident involved a John Deere tractor and a 2021 Chevrolet, and it occurred on Holland Avenue close to Mueller Road in Blumfield Township. A 38-year-old man from Saginaw was operating the tractor when it was involved in a crash with an eastbound Chevrolet, driven by an 88-year-old man from Vassar. An 80-year-old female passenger in the Traverse was severely injured in the crash and was subsequently declared deceased at a nearby hospital. No additional injuries were recorded, and drunk driving is not considered to have had a role in this accident, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP). An inquiry remains active in the meantime.
