Sterling Heights, MI – Fatal Truck Crash on 17 Mile Rd Claims Life of Woman

Sterling Heights, MI (December 18, 2024) - A motor vehicle accident claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon after her vehicle collided with a semi-truck at a busy intersection in Sterling Heights.

The incident occurred just after 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of 17 Mile Road and Mound Road. According to local authorities, the woman, identified as a Sterling Heights resident, was traveling eastbound on 17 Mile Road in a silver Toyota Highlander. As her vehicle proceeded through the intersection, it collided with a semi-truck tractor-trailer. The woman was severely injured as a result of the accident. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
