Zeeland Twp., MI - One Killed in Small Plane Crash at Ottawa Executive Airport

Zeeland Twp., MI (June 30, 2025) – A tragic plane crash at the Ottawa Executive Airport in Zeeland Township claimed the life of one person on Sunday morning, June 29.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to the airport around 10:49 a.m. after reports of a downed aircraft. When deputies arrived, they found a fixed-wing plane with severe damage just beyond the end of the runway at 5923 Byron Road. The aircraft’s sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim at this time. The cause of the crash is under active investigation and will be reviewed further by the Federal Aviation Administration to determine what led to this devastating incident. The Michigan State Police may also assist as needed.
