Locke Twp., MI - One Killed in Collision at M-52 & Haslett Rd

Locke Twp., MI (July 4, 2025) – A tragic accident in Locke Township claimed the life of an Alaska man on July 2. The fatal crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Michigan 52 (Perry Road) and Haslett Road. According to deputies, the victim was traveling north on Michigan 52 when he attempted to turn west onto Haslett Road. At that moment, his vehicle was struck by a southbound car driven by a 27-year-old man from Breckenridge, Michigan.

The victim, who was the only occupant in his vehicle, died at the scene due to the impact. The two people inside the other vehicle, a driver and a 41-year-old passenger from Owosso, did not suffer any injuries. Local deputies reported that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role in this incident. The intersection remained closed for several hours as the Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team worked to piece together exactly what happened. The crash continues to be investigated.
