Fountain, MI (November 24, 2021) - A body was pulled from the debris following a house fire in Mason County’s Sheridan Township on Monday, November 22nd.
The victim has been identified by sheriff’s deputies but their name will not be released until it is verified at autopsy.
A passing motorist reported the fire in the 3700th block of North Morse Road, in the area of East Dewey Road at about 9:10 a.m.
Fire departments from Fountain Area and townships of Custer, Branch, Pere Marquette, and Freesoil responded.
The state police Fire Investigation Unit is assisting Mason County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation.
