Detroit, MI (December 3, 2021) – An auto accident on an interstate in Detroit resulted in injuries and traffic delays on December 3. The wreck was reported to authorities at approximately 7:00 a.m., according to information from officials.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 at the Metro Parkway and blocked the left shoulder, left lane, center lane, and entrance ramp of the roadway. Only the right lane was open for several hours on Friday.
The area was active with responders for over 7 hours while they worked to determine the cause of the accident and assist injured parties at the scene. At least one person was transported from the site of the wreck to a local hospital for treatment.
At this time, the total number of injured victims has not been reported as police continue to investigate. Traffic was heavy in the area from about 7 a.m. to after 4 p.m. and police asked local motorists to use M-3/Gratiot North as alternative routes.
