Clarksville, MI (December 12, 2021) - A man was killed after he was involved in a rear-end crash with a semi-tractor trailer on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 8. Officers with the Ionia County Sheriff’s office are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
It happened on Interstate 96 when the man reportedly collided with a semi-truck. The man was identified as a Kalamazoo resident, aged 35.
Authorities state that the truck driver was pulled over to the shoulder of the highway checking the straps on his load at the time of the collision. What led to the crash remains unknown at this time.
Local motorists were forced to find alternate travel routes for the time being while crews worked at the crash scene. No further information has been released at this time.
