Georgetown, MI (December 12, 2021) - Injuries were reported in an auto accident that happened in Georgetown on Friday, December 10. According to information from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant, deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the wreck occurred to help those involved.
Sources indicate that the crash happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. near Kenowa Avenue and 44th Street. One of the drivers was trapped in their vehicle due to the force of the collision.
Investigations into the nature of the crash reveal that a 32-year-old Las Vegas man was traveling east on 44th Street near Regal Avenue when he crossed over the center line and struck a vehicle driven by a Jenison man, aged 36. The Jenison man was headed east on 44th at the time.
Officials with the Georgetown Fire Department extricated one of the men from their vehicle and transported him to the University of Michigan Health-West by Life EMS. His injuries were deemed non-life-threatening in nature.
The report concerning the crash stated that the other motorist did not sustain injuries, but did not specify which motorist was hurt.
Police continue to investigate the details of the accident. Nothing further has been reported to the public at this time.
