Mount Clemens, MI (December 22, 2021) – A woman from Harrison Township has lost her life after a man fleeing police in a stolen police cruiser crashed into her vehicle and fatally injured her. An officer working undercover spotted the stolen truck in Mount Clemens and tried several times to stop it on Monday, December 20.
Reports concerning the accident state that the crash happened after the suspect drove off while speeding and striking at least one other undercover vehicle. The chase carried on but ended when the suspect crashed the stolen truck into the woman’s vehicle, causing both vehicles to roll over.
The 58-year-old female victim was pronounced deceased at an area hospital a short time after the collision took place, according to information from local sources. The suspect, identified as a 41-year-old male, attempted to run from the scene but was promptly apprehended by Macomb County sheriff’s deputies.
He was being held without bond in the Macomb County Jail.
