Every time you travel by car, you put yourself in danger, and car accidents claim the lives of tens of thousands of people in the United States every year. In Michigan, 889 people were killed in 834 collisions in 2011. Nearly half of those killed in car accidents in the state were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact. In 2019, 985 people were killed and nearly 75,000 were injured in Michigan traffic accidents.
Injured plaintiffs must make the right decisions in the moments following an accident in order to maximize the value of their damage claim. After a serious accident, many victims are unsure how to obtain the compensation they require. As a result, they might feel alone and perplexed. When injured people try to fight a large insurance company on their own, they frequently run into roadblocks and other problems. This only adds to the situation's stress and frustration. Victims may be able to speak with a Detroit car crash lawyer about their legal rights and options for filing a claim and, in some cases, receiving fair compensation.
