Zeeland, MI (February 19, 2022) - Three people were hurt in a wreck on Friday in Zeeland Township. Initial reports reveal that the incident happened just before 5:00 p.m.
According to information from officials, the crash occurred on Byron Road near 56th Avenue between two vehicles. A 1987 Chevrolet driven by a 54-year-old Hudsonville man was headed east on Byron when it entered snowy conditions accompanied by high winds.
The vehicle slid into the westbound lanes into the path of a 2014 Volkswagen driven by a 58-year-old man. The Volkswagen’s driver attempted to avoid hitting the Chevrolet but was unable to do so.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained injuries and was treated on-site. The Volkswagen’s driver as well as the passenger present in the vehicle at the time were transported to Holland Hospital by AMR Ambulance with moderate injuries.
No other details have been reported at this time. Authorities in Zeeland continue to investigate.
