Michigan Fatal Wrong-Way Collisions
When two or more vehicles traveling in opposite directions on a highway or ramp collide, it is known as a wrong-way collision. These types of crashes are among the deadliest and frequently include fatalities. Between 2010 and 2018, 430 people died in the United States as a result of wrong-way crashes, according to findings from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The wrong-way driver was involved in nearly half of these fatalities, and the majority of these drivers were under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.
A wrongful death happens when a victim is killed as a result of another person’s negligence. After a tragic car accident, the surviving family members may be eligible to make a wrongful death claim. These claims have a lot in common with personal injury claims, but there are also key differences. Following a fatal accident, wrongful death lawsuits are meant to assist the plaintiff in recovering damages on the victim’s behalf.
Even if a wrongful death case will not be able to bring back a loved one who was killed in a terrible accident, receiving financial support will still be able to help your family. In addition to seeking monetary damages for the loss of a loved one, we, as wrongful death lawyers, also work to make sure that the person or entity at fault is held accountable and that you and your family are able to get financial compensation.
