Harper Woods, MI (June 14, 2023) - A Clinton Township woman has been charged after a deadly pedestrian accident in Harper Woods on Tuesday, June 13.

The fatal accident took place on Interstate 94 EB near Vernier Road at around 10:22 p.m. It was reported that a 23-year-old man from Roseville was standing on the side of the road, changing a tire. He and his vehicle were hit by a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Clinton Township woman. He suffered fatal injuries.

The driver fled the scene on foot. She was later apprehended after injuring a Harper Woods officer and biting a Michigan Police State trooper. No additional information on the accident has been provided at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
