Detroit, MI - Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries Recorded on I-696 Near Groesbeck

Detroit, MI (July 20, 2023) - Officers from the Detroit Police Department were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 696 on Thursday evening, July 20.

The incident occurred just before the transition ramp to Groesbeck on I-696 westbound at 9:00 p.m., according to the DPD and Michigan Department of Transportation. Officers blocked much of the road for their on-site investigation before calling emergency personnel to the location of the accident.

Although no specifics regarding the drivers' injuries or their identities have been disclosed, paramedics arrived on the scene not long after DPD police closed off the area and appeared to assist at least one person with injuries. It's unknown if any patients received extra care at a local hospital.

DPD authorities encouraged any witnesses to come forward and help the investigation even though the reason for the collision is still under investigation.
