Car Accident Injuries in Detroit
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an automobile collision occurs every 10 seconds in the United States. Given the disheartening trends we’ve seen in Michigan and around the nation, it’s not surprising that automobile accidents make up the bulk of personal injury claims examined by our courts today.
Even if you think your injuries are modest and the facts surrounding the incident are simple, you should always see a lawyer following a vehicle accident. Despite victims’ worries that paying for legal counsel may drain their money, studies show that plaintiffs who have attorneys defend them earn bigger damages when they have legal representation. Most personal injury lawyers only accept cases for which they will be paid if their client is successful.
Having legal representation may be helpful for victims in a variety of situations. Your lawyer will act as your representative in negotiations with the insurance provider and other parties. You may have faith in your lawyer to investigate the circumstances surrounding your case, identify the responsible parties, and provide a rationale for the amount of compensation you believe you are owed. The next steps in this direction likely include interviewing potential witnesses and collecting relevant data.
