Detroit, MI (September 12, 2023) – At least one person was hurt after several cars collided on a highway in the Detroit area on Tuesday afternoon, September 12.
At 3:15 p.m., a complaint of an accident was made to police, who responded to southbound I-75 at Gratiot Avenue. One of the drivers reportedly overturned at the site of the crash, blocking the roadway. Officers from the Detroit Police Department contacted local EMS workers and Michigan State Police troopers for assistance in the investigation.
It’s unknown how many individuals were involved in the crash, but paramedics arrived immediately after to help the injured victims. The DPD is asking for anybody who may have information to come forward.
In the interim, the DPD is in charge of the current investigation.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with the injured victims, and we hope they make a full recovery soon.
Detroit’s Rate of Car Accidents
Tens of thousands of people use Michigan’s roads and highways each day to go to and from work, see the sights, and travel throughout the state. Three of the busiest and riskiest spots in the Detroit area include the crossroads of Highway 96 and Interstate 75, as well as Interstate 94 between Vining Road and Telegraph Road.
Anyone engaged in a car collision on a highway or interstate is almost certain to suffer serious injuries or fatal wounds, regardless of the specifics of the event or the posted speed restrictions.
Sadly, car accidents are the leading cause of severe injuries in the Detroit area. The aftermath of a car crash may be challenging for victims, who may have to deal with costly medical costs, time away from work, and other substantial losses.
Someone else is responsible for paying for your healthcare costs if they caused the mishap that left you injured. A personal injury lawyer in Detroit may provide the following services and more if you’ve been injured and are looking for representation:
- A thorough investigation of your collision, talking to witnesses and looking at CCTV footage.
- Talking to prospective witnesses might help you piece together what led up to your accident.
- Employing a team of accident investigators to examine your claim thoroughly and find credible expert witnesses.
- Settlement proposals from insurance companies should be carefully evaluated, and conditions that work for you should be negotiated so that your losses and damages are covered fairly and in full.
