Auto Accident Injuries in Michigan
The busy roadways and thoroughfares in Michigan are used daily by tens of thousands of people for commutes, excursions, and other activities. For instance, the part of I-94 between Vining Road and Telegraph Road, the segment of I-94 between Highway 96 and the link with Interstate 75, and the segment of I-94 between Seven Mile Road and Telegraph Road are some of the busiest and riskiest stretches of highway in the greater Detroit area.
And while there are a few areas in Michigan where traveling 75 mph is legal, most of the state has either 55 mph or 65 mph speed limits. Still, even at the latter speeds, the force and speed seen on roads and interstates significantly increase the likelihood that those involved in a vehicle collision sustain severe injuries or suffer fatal wounds, regardless of the specifics of the collisions or traffic regulations in a given location.
Unfortunately, the Detroit area claims a high rate of major injuries, and vehicle accidents are a primary cause. There are several challenges that victims of car accidents must encounter in the aftermath of their accidents, including but not limited to high medical costs, time away from work, and other major consequences.
If you were wounded in a car accident owing to another driver’s recklessness, you should never have to pay out of pocket for your own medical bills and related expenses. When you’ve been injured in Detroit and are looking for legal representation, a personal injury attorney can help you with the following:
- Organizing details from the scene of your crash and any other pertinent data, such as security camera footage or witness statements.
- Gathering additional evidence by interviewing possible witnesses.
- Arranging meetings with accident investigation experts to review the details of your claim.
- Reviewing any correspondence from insurance providers, then negotiating a settlement with these companies after reviewing their initial proposals.
