Michigan Crash: Dealing with the Aftermath
The national and statewide rates of automobile accidents continue to climb. Speeding, irresponsible driving, and driver distraction are three of the leading causes of accidents today, but thankfully, most of these instances may be avoided.
But if a driver’s carelessness or negligence caused your injuries, you may be able to file a claim and recover damages to cover your medical bills, lost wages, and other losses. Automobile accident victims often experience both long-term physical pain and psychological distress, as well as ongoing financial challenges. Even in low-speed or apparently minor incidents, severe injuries such as brain injuries, burns, spinal cord injuries, shattered bones, internal bleeding, and other potentially deadly wounds are all too prevalent. Victims also have to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder, worry, frustration, and uncertainty after having their lives turned upside down by an accident.
However, if you’re trying to make ends meet after a vehicle accident that was obviously the fault of another motorist, Michigan’s personal injury legislation might be difficult to understand and apply. Insurer adjusters will take any and all steps to avoid paying victims fair and complete compensation when they bargain with them without the assistance of an experienced attorney.
However, engaging an attorney might increase your chances of getting the money you need following an accident. Furthermore, when you employ a lawyer on contingency, you will never have to pay any upfront costs. The only way your lawyer gets paid is if they successfully negotiate a settlement or win your case in court. Clients often agree to pay attorneys a percentage (typically 30%-40%) of any settlement funds. Furthermore, you will not be responsible for any legal costs if your claim is rejected.
At Christopher Trainor & Associates, we understand what evidence is necessary to file a successful personal injury claim on your behalf.
