Detroit, MI (September 28, 2023) - On Thursday evening, September 28, a semi-truck crashed and caught fire on a roadway in the Metro Detroit area, causing reported injuries.
According to the Michigan State Police, the incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 96 at Michigan Highway 31.
Per an MSP statement, after the impact between the truck and an unknown number of drivers, the truck pulled off of the highway and caught fire. At least one person was brought to the hospital, where their condition was reported as stable, as stated by authorities.
The number of those involved was unclear. The accident forced the closure of the highway for several hours as MSP investigated the scene, though no further details were provided publicly in the meantime.
