Detroit, MI (October 10, 2023) - A USPS postal carrier was cited on Monday in Caledonia Township after colliding with another vehicle in a crash that ultimately resulted in injuries, per local authorities who released additional details in connection with the wreck on Tuesday.
The incident occurred near 84th Street at roughly 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9. Kent County Sheriff's Sgt. Eric Brunner said that a USPS vehicle and a cement truck were both heading east when the postal worker did a U-turn in front of the cement truck.
The USPS driver, a 37-year-old woman from Gaines Township, is in fair condition after being taken to the hospital. The cement truck driver from Wyoming, age 29, was taken to the hospital but discharged after receiving treatment.
