Markey Township, MI (November 11, 2023) - A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run on Saturday and was hospitalized, according to local officers.
According to the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the hit-and-run collision at the junction of Flint Road and School Road in Markey Township. The victim, a 69-year-old Roscommon man, was treated on-site by EMS and was brought to Grayling Hospital for treatment, the sheriff's office stated, adding he remains hospitalized with probable life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the site reported the suspect car proceeded through the intersection after running a stop sign on School Road, adding the suspect vehicle left the scene and continued eastward on School Road. Officials say the suspect vehicle was a black pick-up truck, maybe an older model Ford F-150.
Several law enforcement agencies searched the area but could not track down the suspect's car. However, an investigation remains active.
