Detroit, MI (November 27, 2023) - An accident involving at least two drivers happened on a local highway on Monday, November 27, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation, resulting in a handful of potential victim injuries.
At about 8:10 p.m., EMTs, police officers from the Detroit Police Department, and state troopers from the Michigan State Police arrived at the site of the incident. The left lanes and shoulder on eastbound I-94 after 21 Mile Road were closed, according to the authorities, while police investigated the scene. Although the victims' present conditions are unclear, paramedics were also sent to the site of the collision to evaluate and treat any injuries. Any witnesses were urged to get in touch with the local police. DPD and MSP authorities are in charge of the accident investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones.
The frequency of major auto accidents has steadily grown in a number of states, including Michigan, during the last several years. Although eliminating dangerous driving habits, including excessive speed, general carelessness, and driver inattention, might avoid many accidents, the number of crashes that result in injuries is still increasing every year.
However, if the driver was careless or negligent, you may file a claim and pursue compensation for your losses, including any injuries you sustained. Victims of auto accidents typically experience severe financial hardships in addition to ongoing physical pain and suffering. Brain injuries, burns, spinal cord injuries, bone fractures, internal bleeding, and other potentially deadly or permanent injuries are not uncommon, even in low-velocity or presumably minor crashes. Other well-known effects for accident victims who have been hurt or lost a loved one without their own fault include PTSD, anxiety, and confusion.
The last thing you need when attempting to recover damages from a vehicle accident that was clearly the fault of the other motorist is further confusion or irritation, yet Michigan's personal injury legislation may be challenging and complicated. Additionally, adjusters routinely use every method at their disposal to prevent giving victims the full and fair compensation to which they are entitled when they try to bargain with insurance companies on their own.
If you hire a competent attorney after an accident, your chances of getting fair compensation will increase. You won't have to pay any upfront costs if you choose a lawyer who takes cases on a contingency basis. In other words, you won't be compensated for your lawyer's services until your matter is successfully handled or you win in court. As a result, until you obtain compensation, you will not be obligated to pay your lawyer (usually between 30 and 40% of your final settlement or award).
