Detroit, MI (December 19, 2023) – The Michigan State Police confirmed that one man lost his life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in Detroit on Friday evening, December 15. The accident was reported at around 11:45 p.m.

According to reports provided by the Detroit Regional Communication Center, a collision between vehicles occurred on Michigan 39 in the area near Plymouth Road. Investigations indicate that a pickup truck collided with a second vehicle on the roadway before going down the embankment and striking concrete.

The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man from Detroit, Michigan, was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle rolled down the freeway and caught on fire. The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital. The 49-year-old man was pronounced deceased on site. The Michigan State Police are investigating the accident at this time.
