Bay County, MI (January 2, 2024) – A firefighter was transported to an area hospital with injuries following an automobile accident that took place on Monday morning in Bay County. Calls for help came in at around 1:45 a.m. on January 1.

According to reports from local news sources, icy road conditions resulted in multiple vehicles being involved in a collision on US Highway 10. Firefighters from Monitor Township responded to the scene to provide assistance. As firefighters began helping motorists who were involved in the accident, one of the firefighters was struck by a vehicle. An ambulance responded to the scene and transported the injured firefighter to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, authorities in Bay County are investigating.
