Macomb, MI (January 8, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident was reported in Macomb County on Sunday afternoon and ended with injuries. At around 2:40 p.m. on January 7, the police and firefighters were notified of the crash that occurred on Interstate 696.

Crash reports indicate that a collision blocked the westbound side of the interstate near Gratiot Avenue. The incident caused severe disruptions in the area, prompting officials to shut down the roadway as they worked to remove the involved vehicles from the scene. Emergency medical services responded to care for those harmed. The injured victims were transported to local hospitals for further treatment. The Michigan State Police are currently investigating the crash.
