St Joseph, MI (January 24, 2024) – The Michigan Department of Transportation informed area officials that they were needed at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Berrien County. Calls for help came in at approximately 9:40 a.m. on January 23.

According to area law enforcement, a collision occurred on the northbound side of US Highway 31 in the area near Napier Avenue. The incident prompted authorities to close a portion of the roadway near exit 24 as they worked to remove the vehicles from the right lane of travel. Emergency medical services personnel responded to treat those harmed on-site. Injured victims were transported to local hospitals for further care. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by the Michigan State Police.
