Berlin Twp., MI (January 25, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Monroe County sent one woman to a local hospital with injuries. The crash occurred on January 22 in Berlin Township.

According to reports provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 26-year-old woman was walking east on Newport Road when she was struck by a westbound vehicle in the area near Canterbury Lane. The involved vehicles fled the scene of the crash. Authorities arrived on site and located the injured woman in a ditch on the north side of the roadway. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
