Royal Oak, MI (February 9, 2024) – One man was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a car crash that occurred on Wednesday evening in Royal Oak. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident at approximately 8:00 p.m. on February 7.

According to official reports, a semi-truck tractor-trailer jackknifed on Interstate 75, blocking multiple southbound lanes of the road. Several additional vehicles became involved in a collision following the initial crash that blocked multiple lanes. One man became trapped inside his vehicle. Firefighters had to extricate the victim using the Jaws of Life. The man was transported to Corewell Hospital for emergency care. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
