Lansing, MI (July 27, 2023) - One lane of southbound U.S. Highway 127 in Jackson County was shut down on Thursday morning, July 27, after a collision involving two utility trucks.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m., officers with the Lansing Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident and saw that two trucks had collided before rolling onto their sides.

The accident initially blocked all southbound lanes between I-94 and business I-94, along with one northbound lane. Though the total number of victims and their injuries were not specified, we know that EMTs were dispatched by police shortly after the crash occurred, and paramedics appeared to assess those involved at the scene.

An investigation into the truck collision remains ongoing in the meantime.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
