Grand Rapids, MI - Man Crushed, Killed in Vehicle Accident on Perkins Ave Near Mason & Bradford Sts

Grand Rapids, MI (July 30, 2023) - The Grand Rapids Police Department has reported that a man was killed on Saturday, July 29, when he was crushed beneath a vehicle.

The area of Perkins Avenue NE between Mason Street NE and Bradford Street NE was the scene of a police call on Saturday night. According to a lieutenant at GRPD's dispatch center, a man was working beneath a car when the crank supporting the vehicle gave way.

By the time emergency medical services arrived at the site at 5:45 p.m., it was too late to save the victim's life, and he was declared dead at the scene.

GRPD officials are still looking into the incident despite the lack of new information.
