Detroit, MI (July 31, 2023) - On Sunday morning, July 31, police in Detroit responded to a crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 96 and reported a handful of victim injuries.
Per an alert posted by the Michigan Department of Transportation, at least two drivers were involved in the wreck, which occurred at 10:20 a.m. after the exit to Milford Road. DPD shut down the right lanes and shoulder before dispatching local paramedics to assist the drivers and evaluate those involved for injuries.
Though news footage showed EMTs and fire rescue units at the scene, the total number of victims and the extent of their injuries remain unclear.
The Detroit PD is handling the ongoing crash investigation. No further details were released in the meantime.
