Detroit, MI (August 5, 2023) - A 29-year-old man from Lansing was badly hurt after being thrown off his motorcycle after a crash that took place early Saturday morning on Interstate 94 near Detroit.

According to reports from the Michigan State Police, the incident happened at 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, on westbound I-94 at the interchange with I-75.

The 30-year-old motorcyclist claimed to police he lost control after being forced off the highway by an unidentified driver. Troopers say the incident caused the motorcyclist to ride over the ramp lane and then roll, ejecting both the driver and a passenger riding with him.

The passenger's injuries were life-threatening. The motorcyclist also suffered serious injuries, though he is expected to recover. Both victims were hospitalized after the wreck.

Officers are searching for the driver involved and have not provided additional details during their ongoing investigation.
