Shelby Township, MI (August 10, 2023) - According to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast, a 20-year-old Wyoming woman was hurt in a head-on collision on Michigan Highway 20 in front of Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9.

The victim, who was behind the wheel of a red Honda Pilot headed east on M-20, was turning into Lewis Farms when the incident occurred. Another driver, a Shelby teenager, was traveling west in her gray Ford Explorer when the two collided in a head-on crash.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the area affected by the accident was blocked for almost an hour and a half. The driver of the Ford was unharmed, but the Honda driver and her 19-year-old female passenger were injured. Life EMS transferred the victims to Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon after the crash.

An investigation is still ongoing in the meantime, and no additional details were provided.
