Detroit, MI - Car Accident on I-96 at Upton Ave Injures Victims

Detroit, MI (August 28, 2023) - Two drivers apparently collided on Monday morning, August 28, in the Detroit area, leaving at least one person injured.

Officers were sent to the Upton Avenue exit from westbound Business I-96 at about 8:40 a.m. After closing the left lanes of traffic, officials in Detroit called for medical assistance through radio and notified Michigan State Police to assist the on-scene inquiry.

While paramedics were at the scene of the collision, it is still unclear how many people were hurt. The DPD has asked for any potential witnesses to get in touch with them and aid their investigation, which is ongoing in the interim.
