Coopersville, MI (August 31, 2023) – An accident involving a semi-tractor trailer and a passenger car has forced the closure of westbound Interstate 96 near Coopersville.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the accident occurred on I-96 at 68th Avenue (Exit 16) just before 9:00 a.m.
Dispatchers in Ottawa County said that all highways west of 68th Avenue are blocked. Shortly after the incident, paramedics arrived, although it is unknown how many individuals were injured. The Coopersville PD is now looking for witnesses to help with an ongoing investigation.
