Vergennes Township, MI (September 25, 2023) - On Monday, there was a fatal car accident in Vergennes Township, and a teenage passenger was seriously hurt.
The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on Fallasburg Park Drive, close to Heim Street.
Kent County Sheriff's Office reports that a Lowell teen, aged 16, was driving north on Fallasburg Park Drive in a Chevrolet truck when she collided with the driver of a GMC Envoy. After getting a call about a vehicle fire, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff's Office arrived. Officers discovered the 16-year-old with injuries when they arrived. The GMC Enjoy was also on fire, and the body of the 31-year-old man was discovered inside the car.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is still looking into the cause of the accident at this time.
