Kalamazoo, MI - Motorcyclist Hospitalized After US 131 Accident

Kalamazoo, MI (September 29, 2023) - Michigan State Police troopers reported an accident on Friday that left a motorcyclist critically hurt.

Per authorities who responded to the scene, the incident took place on U.S. Highway 131 in Kalamazoo County, just before northbound I-95 at KL Avenue.

An initial investigation revealed that the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old male from Otsego, allegedly lost control after a collision and crashed into a barrier shortly thereafter.

Troopers say paramedics transferred the man to Bronson Hospital in critical condition.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, though the cause of the collision is yet unknown. It's also unclear whether the man collided with another driver or an object in the roadway.

Witnesses who may have been in the area during the incident were asked to contact MSP troopers.
