Detroit, MI (October 1, 2023) - At least one person was hurt in a crash involving two or three southbound automobiles on Interstate 96 in Detroit on the afternoon of Sunday, October 1.

Around the exit to Greenfield Road, an accident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 96. When deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrived, they determined that at least two vehicles had been involved in the collision, with the possibility that a second vehicle had turned over. However, authorities have yet to piece together what led up to the crash.

Although EMTs were sent to the site to evaluate the wounded, the extent of their injuries and the current status of the victims have not been made public.

Detroit police and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office are continuing their joint investigation but have not provided any additional details at this time.

The injured and their families are in our thoughts at this time.
