Detroit, MI (October 5, 2023) - At least one person was hurt in a crash involving multiple drivers that occurred on Interstate 696 in Detroit on Thursday morning, October 5.

The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m. on southbound I-75 and eventually closed several lanes of the highway following the exit to Big Beaver. The accident scene was cordoned off once deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office arrived. However, authorities did not release specific details about the crash's victims and their conditions.

Although emergency medical responders were sent to the scene to evaluate the victims and bring those seriously injured to the hospital, it is unknown how severe their injuries or current conditions are.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the Detroit Police Department are conducting a joint investigation. Deputies and local law enforcement are now interviewing potential witnesses.
