New Buffalo Twp., MI (November 17, 2023) – A major crash reported in Berrien County on Thursday evening left nearly one dozen people hurt. The crash occurred at around 9:20 p.m. on November 16.
According to reports from the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, an Amtrak train and a vehicle collided on the tracks near the Lakeside Road crossing. The force of the collision caused the train to derail while carrying 200 passengers. Ten people were injured in the crash. The victims were treated on-site. Those who required further medical attention were transported to local hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
