Detroit, MI – Two Injured in Crash Involving Road Crew on I-96

Detroit, MI (March 13, 2025) – A collision involving a Wayne County road crew truck on eastbound Interstate 96 resulted in injuries on Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on March 10 near the Southfield Freeway. According to the Michigan State Police, a Wayne County road crew truck was stopped in the right lane with a trailer and an arrow board directing traffic to merge left.

An 82-year-old Detroit man, driving a Lincoln MKS, reportedly did not see the road crew truck and rear-ended it. Both the Lincoln driver and the driver of the road crew truck sustained injuries. Emergency responders provided medical assistance, and both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities cited the Lincoln driver for failing to stop in a sure clear distance. The accident remains under investigation.
