Wayne County, MI. – One person was hospitalized after being injured in a collision on Sunday night in Wayne County.

According to Michigan State Police, the accident happened around 8 p.m. on northbound I-275 near the westbound I-94 ramp.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Mazda was merging onto I-275 when it rear-ended a Kia that was stopped in the gore. The impact of the collision pushed the Kia into a Ford that was also stopped in the gore.

One of the drivers was outside his vehicle and was hit by the Ford.

The injured driver was taken to hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
