East Lansing, MI (January 22, 2022) - A local man was killed after being hit by a motor vehicle in East Lansing on Tuesday morning, January 18. The deadly pedestrian accident was reported at around 5:15 a.m. on West Road near Abbey Road.
Emergency responders were sent to the scene to render aid to the injured party. They found 38-year-old Michael Wayne Son Jr. of East Lansing lying on the roadway. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Son was reportedly hit by a vehicle, and his vehicle, a Dodge Ram four-door 1500 pickup truck, was missing. It was later found on Abbot Road and is currently being used as evidence in the investigation.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly pedestrian accident is underway.
