Detroit, MI (June 11, 2023) - Two state troopers were hurt after a driver crashed into their patrol vehicle in Detroit on Friday, June 9. 

The accident was reported on Interstate 75 at around 11:50 p.m. The troopers were responding to an incident when they were stuck in traffic on the highway. It was then that a 78-year-old man from West Virginia was unable to stop and rear-ended the patrol car. 

The officers experienced back pain and took themselves to a hospital for treatment. The other driver was issued a citation by authorities. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
