Detroit, MI (July 24, 2023) - Officers from the Detroit Police Department reported an accident with apparent injuries on Monday, July 24, and they say that the incident took place on the westbound side of Interstate 696.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the collision happened at about 3:25 p.m. on I-696 near Coolidge Avenue. The incident caused the left lanes of traffic to be blocked prior to the transition ramp to Coolidge.
No information on the drivers or their injuries has been made public, though DPD police cordoned off the scene and called for paramedics.
The DPD is investigating, and they plan to share further details as soon as they become available.
