Detroit, MI (July 28, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department reported an injury-causing accident on Friday evening, July 28, and said the crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94.
According to an emergency alert from the Michigan Department of Transportation and early statements provided by the DPD, the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on westbound I-94 at the transition ramp before the Fred Moore Highway.
DPD officers called for medical responders and backup assistance from fire rescue teams, but police have not provided a public update on the identities or current conditions of the drivers involved.
An investigation into the accident is active and ongoing, and the DPD is handling the inquiry going forward.
