Eastpointe, MI (July 30, 2023) - On Saturday afternoon, a Roseville police officer was involved in a rollover collision in Macomb County, leading to moderate injuries.

Shortly after the incident, at about 1:00 p.m., a witness called dispatchers to report that a police car had been involved in what seemed to be a serious vehicle wreck near the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and Stevens Road.

The Eastpointe Police Department said that early reports indicated that a Roseville Police Department vehicle had been hit from behind by another driver, forcing it to flip over.

EMTs responded and treated the police officer for minor to moderate injuries, though the officer is expected to recover. It's unclear if any other persons were hurt.

Authorities are still looking into the facts surrounding the wreck, and the RPD is handling the ongoing investigation.

We are thinking of the injured victim and their loved ones. We hope for their fast and full recovery.
