Detroit, MI - Car Crash, Injuries Occur on I-696 Near MI-10

Detroit, MI (August 3, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle accident on I-696 in the Detroit area on Thursday night, August 3.

According to DPD's first findings, the incident happened at about 5:50 p.m. on the westbound left shoulder of Interstate 696, not far from State Route 10. The DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation report that officials blocked off virtually all right-hand lanes and then called for the help of fire rescue and EMS.

Despite the rapid arrival of emergency medical services, very little is known about the drivers or their injuries. The DPD has put out an appeal for witnesses who may be able to help with their investigation.
