Detroit, MI - DPD Investigating Injury-Causing Collision on I-96 at Alpine Ave

Detroit, MI (August 5, 2023) - On the evening of August 5, Saturday, officers from the Detroit Police Department responded to an accident involving multiple vehicles and apparent injuries on eastbound Interstate 96 in the Detroit metropolitan region.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., according to preliminary reports from the Detroit PD, a collision happened in the right lanes of I-96, not far from the off-ramp to Highway 37 and the exit to Alpine Avenue. Officers from the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation both called for help from the city's emergency medical technicians.
